Jurassic 5 – Swing Set

The kind of sound I listen to while riding my bike to the studio. It replaces the coffee and makes slaloming through traffic much more fun.

Esbjörn Svensson Trio – Elevation Of Love

This song takes my mind to good places. And it gets better and better every time. Esbjörn Svensson was a genius and this tune is an absolute masterpiece.

Battles – Atlas

I love not being able to classify music into a genre (I'm really bad at it anyway) because, in my opinion, good music shouldn't sound like anything else. That's exactly what I like about Battles. It simply sounds like Battles.

Dan Deacon – Snookered

If you haven't yet, you must imperatively attend to a Dan Deacon concert before dying. Listening to this particular song is like watching the film of your life on fast forward and on acid. Quite an experience!

13&God – Death Major

I secretly suspect Doseone to be a time traveling surrealist poet from the 19th century pretending to be a rapper in order to fit in our contemporary world. The truth is that guy is just one of those talented complete artists you love to hate.

Radiohead – Everything In Its Right Place

I didn't really listen to music as a child until the age of 15. The first record I ever bought was Kid A. In the universe of music, that album was my Big Bang. In a way, Radiohead made me discover and love all the music I listen to now and for that, I am eternally grateful. But, subjectivity aside, this is one of the greatest albums ever made!

Cheek Mountain Thief – Showdown

I love British band Tunng for its experimental approach of folk music. Cheek Mountain Thief is a side-project of Tunng frontman Mike Lindsay inspired by and recorded in Iceland. This song smells like fresh morning dew and sunrise. It gives me the chills.

Tortoise – Gigantes

Tortoise is probably my favorite music to listen to while working. As well as Battles, their music defies easy categorization. It's a subtle mix of jazz, electronica, dub and rock. They are the pioneers of experimental rock, always looking for new sounds, and all their albums are a true delight. Anyway, a band with two drummers on stage will always have my heart.

The Bad Plus – Silence is The Question

I'm crazy about crescendos in music. And this piece is definitely one of my favorite. Visceral, intense, emotional. Truly stunning. Its sounds like a passionate argument ending up in a lustful make-up orgy. The climax gives me the purest eargasms. I feel physically exhausted after listening to this.

Max Richter – Spring 1

A little treat for those who will hold out until the end. A piece of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons recomposed by Max Richter. Simple. Vivid. Beautiful.
