One of my favorite songs of the past ten years. I was a fan of the original, but The Walkmen's waltzy take on the song instantly warms up any cold room.

This is the first Gainsbourg song I was ever exposed to and I suppose it is still my favorite. Just an incredibly cool song that seems to embody everything about the man.

I'm a huge fan of the entire Nilsson catalog… yet this song sounds nothing like the rest of 'em. The drum solo always gets me.

I'm not sure there are many artists that can give a Beatles cover justice, let alone blow the original away.

I love the tone of songs that are recorded live in a studio, especially when it sounds like it was recorded in the middle of a party.

The Velvet Underground – Oh! Sweet Nuthin'

This record makes me want to lay on the floor and stare through the ceiling.

Just a great song from a great vocalist.

There's something amazingly contemporary about the this track. 

A perennial favorite of mine. This song has meant so many different things to me during various points in my life.

I think it is important to end every mix/playlist with either a Beatles or Zombies song.
